<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system and a printing device dispensing with input of troublesome printing control data to correspond to printing control conditions unique to each printing device and capable of securing a sufficient degree of freedom to vary the printing conditions without excessive enlargement of printing control data to be prepared on the host computer side. <P>SOLUTION: Primary printing control data provided in a transmission source device 4 are converted into secondary printing control data showing control condition contents unique to the printing device 2, by a printing control data converting means and supplied for printing processing without individually holding printing control data specialized in printing conditions demanded on the printing device 2 side, for every printing condition. The printing control data are described as a set of a plurality of printing condition commands. Each printing device 2 is provided with the printing control data converting means for converting the primary printing control data received from the transmission source device 4, into the secondary printing control data unique to the printing device 2. A system of printing control data (furthermore a printer driver using the printing control data) on the transmission source device 4 side can thereby be considerably simplified to reduce a processing burden on the transmission source device side and to easily cope with upgrading. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
