PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus which can obtain a woody material impregnated with a resin more efficiently and more uniformly as compared with a conventional woody material. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with at least a transfer means 11 transferring a woody material 1 to be treated, a vacuum suction means arranged to make its suction port 20 be contacted with the outer surface of the woody material 11 to be transferred, and means (12a, 12b, and 13) supplying the resin R to form a sealing layer by a resin liquid layer for impregnation on the outer surface of a suction port vicinity area in the woody material to be transferred while being contacted with the suction port of the vacuum suction means.
