A brake pedal unit is provided to make the same brake feeling with a general brake system by changing viscosity of a controllable fluid in an EMB(Electro-mechanical Brake) system. A brake pedal unit comprises a brake pedal(100); a cylinder(500); a piston(200) connected with the brake pedal to be reciprocated in the cylinder; a controllable fluid received in the cylinder; a sensor installed at a vehicle body; and a control unit for regulating the controllable fluid according to the detected value of the sensor. The controllable fluid is an MR(Magneto-Rheological) fluid which changes viscosity according to the amount of magnetic field. The control unit is formed with an ECU(Electronic Control Unit); and a magnetic field generating unit(10) operated by the ECU. The magnetic field generating unit is desirably formed of a coil, but possibly of an electromagnet. |
