A car audio device having double tuners and a control method therefor are provided to allow a user to continuously listen to broadcasting while another area broadcasting frequency signal of the same broadcasting is automatically searched and listen to the broadcasting of clean sound quality in a search-ended time by composing the two tuners. An antenna(190) acquires a broadcasting frequency signal. A main tuner unit(260) outputs the RSSI of a broadcasting frequency signal selected among broadcasting frequency signals acquired through the antenna(190) as a voltage, demodulates the selected broadcasting frequency signal, and outputs a baseband signal. An auxiliary tuner unit(270) outputs the strength of the receiving electric field of the broadcasting frequency signal selected among the acquired broadcasting signals as a voltage. A memory(120) stores area-classified frequency signals according to broadcasting stations. A control unit(210) controls the main tuner unit(260), the auxiliary tuner unit(270), and the memory(120).
