A digital image storing device of a USB(Universal Serial Bus) memory mounting type and a control method therefor are provided to simultaneously store a moving picture photographed by a camera and file data stored in a USB memory without additional software by using USB interface technique. A USB memory stores mass data. A camera(21), attached to a certain position of a front surface of a digital image storing device with a USB memory mounting type, photographs a moving picture. An acceleration sensor(22), installed in a mounting kit in which a USB port is formed, measures acceleration data of a vehicle in real time. A DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(23) stores digital moving picture data photographed from a camera(21) in an SDRAM(Synchronous Dynamic RAM)(26), compresses the digital moving picture data, and encodes the moving picture data by a video codec. The DSP(23) receives the acceleration data of the vehicle measured from the acceleration sensor(22), judges whether the vehicle is stopped, driven, and in an accident by a software module, and processes the received acceleration data to insert the acceleration data synchronized with an image signal into a user data area of an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) data packet. A button(24) is attached to a certain position of the front surface of the digital image storing device. A timer(25) in which an auxiliary battery is embedded displays a current date and accurate time information. The SDRAM(26) stores the digital moving picture data photographed from the camera(21) and the measured acceleration data. A flash memory(26a) connects with the DSP(23), and stores various software modules and an OS(Operating System) for photographing the moving picture and measuring the acceleration.
