<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator and discharge device assuring excellent drive durability by mitigating deterioration in displacement due to repetitive drive. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric actuator 1 displaces a displacement element 6 by laminating a common electrode 3, a piezoelectric ceramic layer 4, and a drive electrode 5 in this sequence on a piezoelectric vibrating plate 2; allocating a plurality of drive electrodes 5 on the surface of the piezoelectric ceramic layer 4; forming a plurality of displacement elements 6 each of which is formed by holding the piezoelectric ceramic layer 4 with the drive electrode 5 and common electrode 3; and by applying a drive voltage across the common electrode 3 and drive electrode 5. In the piezoelectric actuator and the discharge device comprising the same actuator, the elastic compliance S<SB>1</SB>of the piezoelectric vibrating plate 2 is larger than an elastic compliance S<SB>2</SB>of the piezoelectric ceramics layer 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
