PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer reducing the quantity of an insulating liquid without deteriorating a cooling performance due to the obstruction of the convection of the insulating liquid. SOLUTION: In the transformer using the insulating liquid L, there are spaces excepting one occupied by a transformer body 3 in a tank. An upper insulator 14, a lower insulator 15, corner insulators 16, coil horizontal insulators 17, a core horizontal insulator 18 or the like are arranged in an upper space, a lower space, the corner of the tank 9, the horizontal space of a coil 2, the horizontal space of a core 1, an opening in the transformer body 3 or the like as regions obstructing no convection of the insulating liquid in the spaces excepting the transformer body 3, respectively. Since these insulators do not obstruct the convection, the quantity of the insulating liquid L is reduced without deteriorating the cooling performance, and an internal pressure in the tank 9 can be lowered.
