An image system for both gamma and optics and a method for processing an image thereof are provided to improve correctness of an operation or a treatment of a patient by processing gamma and optical images at the same time. An image system for both gamma and optics includes a detection unit, a signal processing unit, and an image processor. The detection unit detects a gamma ray or a visible ray inputted from an external apparatus. The signal processing unit processes a signal detected in the detection unit. The image processor outputs an image based on the signal processed in the signal processing unit. A signal separation unit(202) separates the signal detected in the detection unit into two signals. An optical signal analyzing unit(205) analyzes and outputs an optical signal from the signal separated in the signal separation unit(202). A gamma ray analyzing unit(203) analyzes and outputs the gamma ray signal from the signal separated in the signal separation unit(202). A plurality of trigger units(204) triggers the optical signal and the gamma ray analyzed by the optical signal analyzing unit(205) and the gamma analyzing unit(203). A processing unit generates and displays the gamma ray and optical image triggered by the plurality of trigger units(204) at the same time.
