<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal authentication system which can prevent leakage of personal information even when contents of a host computer is disclosed. <P>SOLUTION: The system comprises a card 2 in which identification information data 5 and personal information data 6 are stored, a card reader terminal 3 for implementing personal authentication using the card 2, and a host computer 4 having an identification information database 7. The card reader terminal 3 comprises a reader part 9 for reading the identification information data 5 and the personal information data 6 from the card 2, an identification information collating part 10 for collating the identification information data 5 with the identification information database 7, a question selection part 11 for selecting a question to the user of the card 2 based on the personal information data 6, a display 12 for presenting a question to the user, a ten key 13 with which an answer to the user's question is inputted, and a true or false determination part 14 for comparing the contents of the answer with the contents of the personal information data 6, and making a true or false determination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
