An AC-type PDP having a panel structure drivable on low voltage can be produced though an inexpensive thick-film step while abolishing a thin film step at which it is difficult to form, e.g., an MgO protective layer. One of paired discharge electrodes is a generally-called AC-type electrode capacitively coupled to a bus electrode through a dielectric layer and divided into independent insular portions made of a conductive electrode material and corresponding to the respective pixels. The other is a generally-called DC electrode which is the bus electrode exposed to the discharge space as it is. Using the paired electrode, discharge display is carried out. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007 |
