PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for preventing a traffic on a network from becoming excessive even when utilizing a transmission service transmitting a plurality of contents, and a technique relating to the communication system. SOLUTION: A composite machine 10 transmits a polling cycle list request to a management server 30 (4) when receiving the registration completion notification, which shows that the registration of the start or the stop of the transmission service of a content is completed at an information provision server 20 and the management server 30. The management server 30 transmits a polling cycle list to the complex machine 10 (5) after reading out a polling cycle from a subscription DB. The complex machine 10 updates the polling cycle of the complex machine 10 with a minimum value of the polling cycle included in the polling cycle list (6) when receiving the polling cycle list.
