PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug ignition aid device attaining satisfactory plug ignition for all rotation ranges in an ignition system of an engine. SOLUTION: The plug ignition aid device 10 is constructed to have, in a housing, electrolytic capacitors C1-C4, which are respectively connected in parallel between plus terminals (V1-V4) and ground terminals GND1-GND4 on a primary coil L1-L4 side of ignition coils K1-K4 connected to respective ignition plugs P1-P4 in a direct ignition system, and diodes D1-D4 respectively reverse-connected in parallel between the plus terminals and the ground terminals GND1-GND4 on the primary coil L1-L4 side and to be provided with a joint connector for connection to a dedicated harness. The device allows generation of high voltage on a secondary coil side by absorbing back electromotive force created on the primary coil L1-L4 side of the ignition coil of each spark plug to straighten primary side current and attains efficient plug ignition.
