A sensor for tracking a position of an eyeball and a sensing method thereof are provided to guarantee a fast operation speed by performing an image processor of a pixel level while using a single chip without needing peripherals. A shrinker removes a dark area of an eye image by changing the dark into a white pixel. An expander removes reflection caused from external light in a pupil part of the eye image. The position of the eyeball is checked through interaction of the pixel level. A CIS(CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) Image Sensor) pixel array(100) is formed by 'MxN' cellular neural network. Each pixel outputs a current value corresponding to darkness to the outside and the current value of each pixel is summed by entire row and column.
