A composition comprising a Juniperus chinensis extract or a cedrol is provided to show excellent acyl CoA:diacyl glycerol acyl transferase inhibition effect, thereby being effectively used for treating obesity and type 2 diabetes. The composition having acyl CoA:diacyl glycerol acyl transferase inhibition activity comprises a Juniperus chinensis extract or a cedrol represented by the formula(1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The composition has an activity of preventing or treating obesity or type 2 diabetes.
