A transceiving system and a data processing method are provided to install components capable of processing MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) data together with supplementary data and enable a sequence generator for generating a pre-defined sequence to be installed within a receiving system, thereby receiving both of the MPEG data and the supplementary data, and significantly improving receiving performance of the receiving system. A transmission system comprises the followings: the first encoding unit for adding the first code, for error correction, to the first data inputted through the first path; a multiplexing unit for multiplexing the first data, added with the first code, and the second data inputted through the second path; the second encoding unit for adding the second code, for error correction, to the first and second data multiplexed by the multiplexing unit; a mapping unit for mapping the first and second data, to which the second code is added, into corresponding values; and a transmitting unit for modulating the values mapped by the mapping unit and transmitting the modulated values.
