The connector has a cable plug-in connector (1) with a halting part to lock the connector (1) with a mating plug-in connector in a snap fit state of the connectors. An actuating unit adjusts a latch in a release position by a sliding sleeve (26). The sleeve is moved against force of a spring into an opening position, and arranged in an intermediate position between its end and opening position in the snap fit state of the connectors. The actuating unit moves the mating connector to release the snap fit between the connectors in the release position.
