A pointing device of an LCD television is provided to form an OSD at a portion where infrared rays are sensed when a user projects the infrared rays through an infrared pointer so that the user can visually and easily discern the portion where the infrared rays are located. A pointing device of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) television comprises the followings: an infrared sensing panel(14) which is attached to the front of an LCD panel and senses infrared rays outputted from an infrared pointer for projecting the infrared rays; a coordinate recognizer(20) which recognizes location coordinates of the infrared rays sensed by the infrared sensing panel(14), and outputting location coordinates data; an OSD(On Screen Display) processor(40) for forming an OSD on the LCD panel; and a micom(30) which controls the OSD processor(40) so as to display the OSD at a location corresponding to the location coordinates when the location coordinates data are inputted.
