LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME

An LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to use no process for forming organic mountain structures, thereby simplifying the manufacturing process, by forming the organic mountain structures through phase-separation of liquid crystal molecules and polymers in a liquid crystal layer. A first insulating substrate(110) and a second insulating substrate(120) are coupled with each other. Pixel electrodes(112) and an alignment layer(116) are formed above the first insulating substrate. A common electrode(122) is formed above the second insulating substrate. A mixture(140) of liquid crystal molecules and polymers is injected between the first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate. Organic mountain structures(130) are formed on the common electrode by phase-separation of the liquid crystal molecules and polymers.
