The cylinder has an electronic evaluation circuit for controlling a clutch to detachably connect a rotatably mounted knob (1) to a pawl of a lock. The knob is formed as a pan-shaped plug-in part that is connected to a clutch spindle (6) in a torque-proof manner. The knob has an external pan base with a perforation (3), where an electrical contact (2) is provided inside the perforation. The electrical contact is connected to the evaluation circuit and electrically scans an identity medium.
