The method involves controlling a caster angle value of steering wheels with the ground based on dynamic rolling conditions, and based on adherence conditions of a tire on the ground, of a motor vehicle, by increasing the angle when the adherence decreases. The dynamic conditions are defined by longitudinal speed (VL) and direction of movement, longitudinal and transversal components (gamma L, gamma T) and/or rotational angle (alpha V) of a flywheel acting on the lock of the wheels. The adherence conditions are defined by an adherence coefficient (mu ). An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a caster angle controlling method.
