摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of detecting ambient temperature of an LD with high accuracy in spite of a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The optical communication apparatus is configured with: a laser diode 11a for simulating a transmission signal light and outputting the light; a photodiode 11b located near the laser diode 11a; a forward bias supply section 22a for supplying a forward bias voltage to the photodiode 11b when the laser diode 11a stimulates no transmission signal light; and an ambient temperature detection section 23 for detecting ambient temperature of the laser diode 11a on the basis of a terminal voltage of the photodiode 11b to which the forward bias voltage is supplied from the forward bias supply section 22a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
