PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disc device capable of improving the generation efficiency of a power source to a low-voltage operation block inside the magnetic disc device. SOLUTION: The magnetic disc device is provided with a main power source supply part 8, which has a switching regulator and supplies the power source of a prescribed voltage with respect to the load, and a power source monitoring circuit 9 which detects the power to be supplied to the load by the main power source supply source 8 and decides whether the detected power exceeds a predetermined power amount. When it is decided that the power to be supplied to the load by the main power source supply part 8 exceeds the predetermined power amount, the power source of the prescribed voltage is supplied to the load by a third power source supply part, provided with a linear regulator.
