PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coke, with which reduction in coke strength is controlled even by using a wood-based waste as a raw material. SOLUTION: In the method for producing coke by carbonizing raw material coal, a wood-based waste having 1,200-32,000mm<SP>2</SP>surface area per particle is carbonized with raw material coal by a coke oven.
