PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing, capable of absorbing a large shock when preventing the reverse rotation of a rotor without enlarging the size or the weight of the rotor. SOLUTION: The spinning reel for fishing has a reverse rotation-preventing device 50 for preventing the reverse rotation of the rotor 30 rotating by making a rotary spindle 32 as the center so as to be interlocked with the operation of a handle 18. The reverse rotation-preventing device 50 has a reverse rotation-preventing body 52 supported by a rotary part of the rotor 30 so as to be rotatable at a prescribed angle relative to the rotary part, a blocking member 54 for blocking the rotation of the rotor 30 in the reverse rotation direction by engaging with the reverse rotation-preventing device 52 when the rotary part is rotated in the reverse direction of the rotor, and a friction member 66 installed between the reverse rotation-preventing body 52 and the rotor 30 and generating friction force when the rotor 30 is rotated in the reverse rotation direction, and a spring member 56 forming repulsion to the rotation in the reverse rotation direction of the rotor 30.
