PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rachet type screw cap by which unsealing can be easily recognized even if a TE band is once unsealed and the cap is fitted again to the mouth part of a container. SOLUTION: The screw cap consists of a cap body 1 and the TE band 2 whose rotation in the uncapping direction is restricted by a rachet 27 on the outer face of the mouth part of the container. The band has a uncapping revolving part 20 moving in the uncapping direction side when the cap is opened, and an uncapping suppressing part 21 for suppressing movement in the uncapping direction side, which are connected by a connector 23 breakable in uncapping through a dividing slit 17. The rachet is provided near the uncapping suppressing part side relative to the dividing slit. In the vicinity of the uncapping direction side of the dividing slit, the lower end face of a skirt part 6 is disposed with a plurality of engaging recesses 33 circumferentially at small intervals. The upper end face of the band accommodates, stopper pieces 31 less than the engaging recess in the engaging recesses.
