PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorption unit for a vehicle capable of preventing damage of the sound absorption material caused by frozen moisture even under cold environment. SOLUTION: Heat of an exhaust pipe 12 of a vehicle C is supplied efficiently to a sound absorption material 3 by a metallic heat transfer plate 4 of a sound absorption device 1 for vehicles and at the same time a part of that heat is stored for a long period of time with thermal storage material 6 filled in a floor panel 10. Due to this fact, even if the vehicle C is stopped for a long period of time under cold environment, this sound absorption device 1 for vehicles prevents growth of ice at the surface of the sound absorption material 3 by action of heat accumulated at the thermal storage material 6 and further an integral adhering between the sound absorption material 3 and a road surface G caused by a growth of ice to be prevented. With such an arrangement as above, when the vehicle C is run again, a tension force generated by ice is not applied and broken ice does not collide against the sound absorption material 3, so that it is possible to prevent the sound absorption material 3 from being damaged and to keep sound absorption performance.
