PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate clamping device which can clamp a printing plate by rotating a winding shaft without rotating a plate cylinder. SOLUTION: This printing plate clamping device is operated in the way that one end 1a of the printing plate 1 is secured to the plate cylinder 2 using a securing groove 18 formed in the plate cylinder 2 of a printing machine, then the other end 1b of the printing plate 1 is held by the winding shaft 3 installed rotatably inside a storage groove 19 formed in the outer periphery of the plate cylinder 2, and the winding shaft 3 is rotated to clamp the printing plate 1 to the outer periphery of the plate cylinder 2. In this device, a plate cylinder shaft 9 of the plate cylinder 2 is of a cylindrical shape, and a freely rotatable operating shaft 5 to the plate cylinder shaft 9 is mounted inside the plate cylinder shaft 9, and further, gears 21, 22 and 23 for transmitting the rotation of the operating shaft 5 to the winding shaft 3, are provided. In addition, a printing plate clamping motor 4 for driving to rotate the operating shaft 5, is installed, and a first clutch 6 is set up in a torque transmission passage for transmitting the rotation of the printing plate clamping motor 4 to the operating shaft 5.
