The press consists of two contra-rotating drums, mounted in a trough (>=1 drum being a strainer). The strainer drum (or drums) rotates around a stationary screen which seals against the inner surface of the drum and which divides the interior of the drum into compartments which can be put under differing pressures. The equipment is suitable for small dewatering applications and its construction and mode of operation result in a low weight, low energy usage and high capacity. The equipment has a simple construction with few moving parts leading to low initial cost and low maintenance cost. |
