PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding wire storage vessel where a wire for welding can be smoothly unwound to the lowest layer without causing entanglement, and to provide a welding wire stored in a vessel. SOLUTION: The lower edge part of a cylindrical outer tube is calked, so as to fix a bottom plate, and an inner tube is fixed to the surface of the bottom plate. Then, on the bottom plate between the outer tube and the inner tube, a welding wire coil is stored. Then, a pressing fixture 2 is mounted on the coil. The pressing fixture 2 has a shape, in which a ring-shaped planar part 3 on the welding wire and a vertical part 4, in all the periphery of the planar part 3, rising from the outer edge thereof to the upper part are integrally molded with an olefinic resin. Then, the vertical part 4 has a stepped shape in such a manner that the diameter of the lower part 4a is made smaller than that of the upper part 4b, and the lower part 4a of the vertical part 4 has a size to infiltrate into the calked part of the outer tube.
