Provided are an IP telephone system having the convenience of a soft phone and the ruggedness of a hard phone, and a voice processing peripheral device (10) for the IP telephone system. The voice processing peripheral device (10) is connected as a peripheral device with an information processing device (20) for executing a call controlling program and functioning as a call control unit. The voice processing peripheral device (10) includes host device connecting means for transferring voice signals with the information processing device (20), and voice processing means for executing the voice processing in IP telephone communications. The IP telephone system includes the information processing device (20) for executing the call controlling program and functioning as the call control unit, and the voice processing peripheral device to be connected with the information processing device (20).
