PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna apparatus capable of changing radio wave radiation property over a wide range in simple structure. SOLUTION: An antenna apparatus according to the present invention includes: a dielectric rod antenna 21 which propagates electromagnetic waves in a slow wave mode; a slit plate 226 which converts a propagation mode of electromagnetic waves propagated through the dielectric rod antenna 21 from the slow wave mode to a quick wave mode; and a fixed electrode 241, 242 to be used for changing a relative distance between the dielectric rod antenna 21 and the slit plate 226.
