<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device capable of performing determination of existence of load input to a vehicle based on adequate criteria according to the traveling state of the vehicle and preventing erroneous operation of an occupant crash protection unit. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant crash protection device is provided with a traveling state determination part (a traveling state determination means) 17 for determining the traveling state of the vehicle based on a turning direction of a lateral falling angle determined from lateral falling angular velocity detected by a lateral falling angular velocity sensor (lateral falling angular velocity detection means) 10; and a threshold value setting part (threshold value setting means) 18 for setting a determination threshold value condition of a side collision determination module (side collision determination means) 15 or a front collision determination module (front collision determination means) 16.
