<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage device whose convenience is improved by avoiding the existence of stored information from being known to other persons to sufficiently protect the information. <P>SOLUTION: A USB memory as the information storage device is provided with: an information input/output part 31 connected so as to be able to input/output information to/from a host side device; a data storage memory 32 for storing input information; a setting and inputting part 33 for setting and inputting virtual recognition instruction information for instructing the host side device to conceal a substantive storage area where information is stored in the entire storage area of the data storage memory 32 and recognize only an empty area with no information stored; and a CPU 34 for controlling the information input/output part 31, the data storage memory 32 and the setting and inputting part 33. The CPU 34 generates virtual management information for making the host side device recognize only the empty area of the data storage memory 32, and provides the host side device with the virtual management information through the information input/output part 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
