A refrigerating machine oil characterized by comprising a mineral oil having a nitrogen content of 50 mass ppm or lower and an aromatic content (%CA) of 5 to 25. The refrigerating machine oil can attain a high level of a balance among stability, lubricity, and compatibility with a refrigerant.
