PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP address acquiring method reducing a load of a network at high speed without using any protocol except for DHCP. SOLUTION: When a received packet is REQUEST, "IP address" and "MAC address" which are stored in the REQUEST are read. Then the "MAC address" and the "IP address" read from the REQUEST are stored, associated with each other when the "MAC address" is a "MAC address" of a network device which is an object to be investigated.
