PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating method and apparatus by which heating can be performed rapidly and uniformly in a prescribed process time so as to mold an optical element in a high accuracy. SOLUTION: The heating apparatus has a table on whose surface a mold is mounted, a heating means which is provided on an upper part of the table and has a heat generating element surrounding the outer peripheral part of the mold movably, and a driving means which is connected to the table and drives the table to rotate. By using the heating apparatus, the mold in which an optical element material is enclosed is set on the table, then the heating means is moved and sent down to surround the mold set on the table, the mold is rotated to the heating means by rotating the table by the driving means, and thereby, the mold is heated.
