摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrier having high poisoning resistance to an acid substance such as a sulfur compound and a method for manufacturing the catalyst carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst carrier 10 is manufactured by mixing a primary particle 1 of ceria and a primary particle 2 of alumina with each other to obtain a mixture and furthermore incorporating an acid metal oxide in the obtained mixture. The method for manufacturing the catalyst carrier containing ceria, alumina and the acid metal oxide being the oxide of a third metal comprises the steps of: preparing a raw material solution containing cerium, aluminum and the salt or hydrolyzable compound of the metal constituting the acid metal oxide; producing a precipitate containing the cerium, the aluminum and the metal from the prepared raw material solution; and drying and firing the obtained precipitate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
