<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article management system of relatively simple structure, specifying and notifying a user that the user has lost the article. <P>SOLUTION: Based on information for specifying the article, obtained by reading from identification tags attached to the articles of the user by means of a sensor, a list of the articles carried by the user at the time point is created. The list is stored every time the list is created, and an event that the user has lost the article and the lost article are specified on the basis of the two or more lists.
