Controlling forced shift to lower gear in automatic transmission by performing five control processes and driving gear change control valves and pressure control valves accordingly

The method involves switching off a gear change control valve when the start of the gear change is detected. A second gear change control valve is switched off for a predetermined time, and then switched on. A third gear change control valve is switched on continuously until a certain time has elapsed since detection of synchronisation. Two pressure control valves are controlled w.r.t. the load. Five control processes are then undertaken for completing the gear change.
