PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in a communication device having a transmitter of a current system and a transmitter of a standby system. SOLUTION: A transmitter 1 of the current system includes a current system amplifier 18a for amplifying a signal being a transmission object and current system monitor means 25a and 11a for monitoring a state on the basis of a feedback signal of the amplified signal. A transmitter 2 of the standby system includes a standby system amplifier 18b for amplifying a signal being a transmission object and standby system monitor means 25b and 11b for monitoring a state on the basis of a feedback signal of the amplified signal. The communication device includes switching means 5 and 3 for switching an operating transmitter between the transmitter of the current system and the transmitter of the standby system and level control means 5, 11b, and 31 for controlling an output level from the standby system amplifier so that the output level is lowered in such a degree that monitor is possible, when the transmitter of the standby system is in a non-operating state.
