PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device which can enhance generation efficiency of a power supply to low-voltage operation blocks inside the magnetic disk device, such as analog blocks of a channel and low-voltage blocks of a serial ATA. SOLUTION: This magnetic disk device is provided with a magnetic recording medium 1; a magnetic head 2; a position control section 3 for relatively moving the magnetic head 2 to the magnetic recording medium 1; a channel section which generates and outputs signals modulated by information to be recorded on the magnetic recording medium 1, and/or demodulates signals input from the magnetic head; a first power supply section which transforms line voltage to a first predetermined voltage, and supplies it to the channel section; and a second power supply section which transforms the supply voltage using a switching regulator to second predetermined voltage, and supplies it to the channel section.
