PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system equipped with a compact digital dimmer circuit which is versatile to an endoscope insertion section or a camera control unit varying in specifications, is easy to exchange, and gives optimal dimming characteristics. SOLUTION: A digital dimmer circuit for an endoscope system is provided in which versatile CPUs substitute for constituent parts of an analog dimmer circuit, such as an adder, a low pass filter, a band pass filter, an F/V converter, a multiplier circuit, a divider circuit or the like. Each CPU converts an analog signal for actuating each part by using a program, such as an assembler or the like, an A/D converter and formulas, and generates a digital signal.
