PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide low melting point glass in which yellowing caused by silver reaction is suppressed, and which has high visible light transmissivity as well by the development of an electron material substrate represented by a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: The SiO<SB>2</SB>-B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-ZnO-BaO-PbO based low melting point glass comprises, by weight, 0 to 6% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 20 to 40% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 15 to 28% ZnO, 20 to 34% PbO, 10 to 25% BaO, 0 to 10% RO(MgO+CaO+SrO), 0 to 8% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 2% CuO, 0 to 3% La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 2% CeO<SB>2</SB>, 0 to 1% CoO, and 0 to 1% MnO<SB>2</SB>. By weight%, the ratio of B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>/ZnO is≥1, its thermal expansion coefficient at 30 to 300°C is (65 to 95)×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C, and its softening point is 480 to 580°C.
