Provided is a film-shaped supramolecular composite material, which has optical anisotropy and shows improved workability including stability against hydrolysis and high mechanical strength. The film-shaped supramolecular composite material comprises: a supramolecular matrix containing a polar group and crystallized into a thin crystal film; and an aliphatic binder containing at least two functional groups, wherein the aliphatic binder further comprises a biatomic or polyatomic alcohol additive. In the supramolecular matrix, the polar group is capable of generating ions, and the polar ion generating group is bound to at least one counter ion.
