PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability when the visibility change or setting change of control information relating to a flash unit is performed. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus to which the flash unit capable of displaying control information can be attached includes: a determining means that determines whether the flash unit has been attached or not; a capturing means that captures control information relating to the flash unit when the determination is made that the flash unit has been attached; and a display means that displays control information relating to the imaging apparatus and the control information relating to the flash unit onto a display part. When the determination is made that the flash unit is attached, the display means displays the control information relating to the flash unit on the display part until a predetermined time elapses.
