PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner where degrading of sucking efficiency is prevented compared with a conventional manner. SOLUTION: By providing a saw tooth notch part 50 at the lower edge 48 of a base part 42, small horizontal eddy current 53 can be generated in the periphery of the lower edge 48 of the base part 42. Thus, gas rolled into a vent hole 44 from the lower edge 48 of the base part 42 is reduced by the horizontal eddy current 53 to generate efficient eddy current. As the result, dust contained in the eddy current is hardly sucked directly into the vent hole 44 in the middle of moving down, and is pressed to the inner peripheral surface of a dust collection container 17 with the centrifugal movement of the current as it is, so that a filter 45 is hardly clogged with dust contained in the eddy current in the middle of moving down. Thus, a clogged state of the filter 45 is delayed, so that degrading of the sucking efficiency is prevented compared with the conventional manner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
