A media package is characterised by having a data structure that includes links to other media packages. Preferably the media package includes a header with bi-directional links to the other media packages. Each media package may include multimedia data or links to sources of multimedia data. A graphical user interface wherein the layout and/or functionality is at least partly determined by the information contained in a media package is also described and claimed.
