PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material for a lithium battery having high capacity (current capacity per area), high cycle characteristics, high durability, and high output characteristics, and also to provide an electrode, and a lithium battery and its manufacturing method and equipment.

SOLUTION: A negative electrode is manufactured by forming a negative active material film having gaps on a negative electrode substrate in such a way that negative electrode particles formed by applying a conductive film to the surfaces of the negative active material particles are carried with carrier gas and sprayed at high speed against the negative electrode substrate, and then heat treatment or reduction treatment is applied to them.
