PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner which improves cleaning properties and suppresses filming and scuffing of a photoreceptor, without impairing high transfer efficiency, high image quality or developability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the electrophotographic toner, an electrophotographic developer, and an image forming method and an image forming apparatus that uses the same. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner contains a binder resin, a pigment and a release agent. A small particle diameter side volume particle size distribution index GSD<SB>v-under</SB>of the toner represented by the expression (1): GSD<SB>v-under</SB>=D<SB>50v</SB>/D<SB>16v</SB>is≤1.25, and the volume average particle diameter D<SB>50v</SB>of the toner is 4-10μm. Small-diameter toner particles TP<SB><5</SB>whose cumulation from the small-diameter side in a volume particle size distribution is≤5% have an average value of shape factor SF, represented by the expression (2): SF=100×π×ML<SP>2</SP>/4A being 100-120, the small-diameter toner particles TP<SB><5</SB>have a release agent content of≤5 mass%; and when the average release agent content of all toner particles is set to 100, the release agent content of the small-diameter toner particles TP<SB><5</SB>is 10-80.
