PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical display advantageous for enhancing operability, and a preset data setting method. SOLUTION: This numerical display 100 is provided with a counting circuit 10 for counting a counting signal Sc generated in response to a moving amount of a moving body from a measuring unit 2 to generate a moving amount data indicating the moving amount. Memories 14A, 14B, 14C for the first-third preset data are memories for storing preset data via a control part 22 by an operation of an operation part 30. The preset data are also stored in a memory 18 for an edition operation, under the condition where the preset data are recalled to be displayed on a display 20, in a preset mode.
